Child Safety Standards

Let's Gather ("Let's Gather", "we", "us") operates the Let's Gather mobile application and website, which help people discover and join local community events across Canada. This page sets out our published standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and explains how anyone can report a concern and how we respond.

1. Our commitment

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation — in our app, at events organized through our app, and in any content shared on our platform. Let's Gather accounts are for people 18 years of age or older, as set out in our Privacy Policy. Children may attend family-friendly events only as guests of their parent or guardian and never have their own profile.

2. Our standards

The following are prohibited on Let's Gather without exception, across all surfaces of the service — events, listings, group chats, photos, profiles, and messages:

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — creating, uploading, sharing, requesting, or linking to it in any form.
Sexualization of minors — any content that sexualizes, or depicts in a sexual context, anyone under 18, including artistic, computer-generated, or "implied" depictions.
Grooming and solicitation — using the service to contact, befriend, or arrange meetings with minors for exploitative purposes, or to solicit sexual content from anyone under 18.
Exploitation through events — organizing, promoting, or facilitating any event or activity that endangers, exploits, or sexualizes minors.

Violation of these standards results in immediate, permanent removal from the platform and referral to authorities where the law requires or permits it.

3. Reporting a concern

Every event, profile, message, and piece of content in the Let's Gather app has a Report option. Reports involving the safety of a child are prioritized ahead of all other reports and reviewed as quickly as possible. If a child is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement first (911 in Canada). You can also report online child sexual exploitation to Cybertip.ca, Canada's national tipline.

4. How we respond

Review — child-safety reports are triaged first and reviewed by our team.
Removal — violating content is removed, and related events are cancelled.
Account action — accounts involved in CSAE are permanently banned.
Evidence preservation — we preserve relevant records so investigations are not compromised, consistent with our data retention policy.
Reporting to authorities — apparent CSAM and child exploitation are reported to the appropriate authorities, including Cybertip.ca / the RCMP's National Child Exploitation Crime Centre in Canada, and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable.

5. Legal compliance

We comply with applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where we operate, including Canada's mandatory reporting requirements for online child sexual abuse material, and we cooperate with law enforcement requests made through lawful process. These standards are reviewed regularly and updated as laws and platform features evolve.
